Fun in Alice Springs

We've had some down time in Alice Springs but have had lots of fun anyway. Sometimes it is very good to do not much!

Territory Day
We were fortunate enough to be in Alice Springs for Territory Day... which probably means a lot to people who live here, but for all us travellers, it means FIREWORKS!!! You can buy and set off fireworks in the NT for one day - 1st July. We went to the clay pans, where other people were also setting off fireworks, so we got to enjoy a couple of hours worth of bangs, whizzes, screams and whirs. Some people had way more money to spend as well, so they had the super-dooper fireworks and we got to enjoy them!

Beanie Festival
We visited the Beanie Festival. The beanies entered into the competition for judging were just incredible!

Fun at the Library with Tony Genovese Space Show
For an hour of free entertainment, this was pretty good. Tilda got up to help out as part of the performance and I was proud of her as she was feeling quite shy.

Alice Springs Show
We enjoyed the Alice Springs Show. It is way more low key than Sydney... about as busy at the Stroud Show (but spread over more space so it feels even less crowded). The kids enjoyed themselves.
